For Arduino Uno, Mega etc, an unsigned long has 32bit and can range from 0 to 4,294,967,295. If you add 1 to an unsigned long holding the maximum value of 4,294,967,295 the answer will be 0 (zero). That is the number overflowed and wrapped around back to 0.
